What do You Think? Meditate in a Special Place, or Meditate Anywhere!

Meditation Place

Meditation is an act of stilling the mind and emotions to experience greater levels of consciousness and to realize the true nature. In order to have a blissful experience the place where we meditate is important as it can affect the depth of our meditation. There are in fact various viewpoints about the place where meditation should be conducted; some believe there should be a special place for meditation, while some others believe you can simply do your meditation anywhere you like:

Meditating in a Special Place!

Some people think that meditation should be done in certain places that have more divine energy and therefore have a deeper experience.

They believe that place is not homogeneous and certain places are actually charged with spiritual energy. These places are often known as chakras of the earth or vortices of energy on earth. Therefore because of the abundance of spiritual energy in such places, it is easier for the consciousness to shift into higher levels and experience deeper vibrations. There even exist testimonials of practitioners who claim that meditating in spiritual places give them more peace, stillness and greater inner experiences.

Such places can exist naturally or can be made by a group of meditators who meditate regularly in any specific place for certain period of time. That is how temples, churches, ashrams and mosques are being created.

Meditating Anywhere!

On the other hand, some people believe that God is everywhere and therefore to meditate, pray or speak with God we do not need to go to temples and places of worship. Any place, room or even in the car or office one can experience stillness and bliss.

In this viewpoint, there is no need to travel far distances to experience God and have deeper inner experiences. One can sit in his own house and meditate and achieve illumination.

This group argues that as long as one can still the mind and emotions, inner experiences follow. Even in the midst of a busy environment it is possible to pray and meditate and it is basically dependent on the meditator rather than the place of meditation and the outside environment.

Praying or Meditating can be done any where since god is omni present.
However if you are talking of real hard core meditating the maximum spritual energy / prana in a meditation then.
    1. Meditate in one specific place and one specific time always.
    2. Meditate in a group preferably more than 7 this give you an effect of 100 meditation in one time.
    3. Meditate in a church / temple / Ashram which is a pios place you will see the energy surge.

I would agree with Anjalu, ‘Prayers anywhere, Meditation specifically on special places.’
This is one reason Master created an Ashram.
Just like we do not eat everything, dont take a bath anywhere, etc..
