Paper is an incredibly important and an always-present part of our daily lives in such way that we often don’t notice that nearly 4 billion tress a year are cut around the world just to make us paper.

In fact about 17 to 24 trees are needed to produce just about one ton of printing and writing paper! This means that if we continue at our current rate, in a matter of years we will run out of trees and as a result, jungles.

But if we start to recycle the papers we no longer need, we can save about 17 of these trees.

We can start by separating paper from wet and non-recyclable garbage and instead recycle or reuse them. Although it might seem hard, the benefits it brings in saving trees and jungles are totally worth the effort.

Now we can take this practice another step further and start archiving our emails, files and notes instead of printing them in the first place. Laptops, tablets and our smart-phones are great alternatives to printed material and are always available.

There are also many online software solutions that help us manage, label and protect our files much more efficiently, and search them much easier.

If we all go online and start using technology in a better and more effective way, we can reduce the amount of energy and labor used in producing paper, besides protecting trees from being cut as well.

Technology might feel difficult, confusing or complicated in the beginning for some, but once we get used to it, it can bring lots of convenience and save lots of our precious time.
