Accurate Perception Correct Expression

Date: June 11, 2013 Category: View Project

When we talk about contributing to the health of our planet it is tremendously important to have an “accurate perception and correct expression,” in what we buy and how we buy. Our home is an important example. It is best to choose houses that are built based on the energy saving principles.

Traditionally, houses were built in such a way that they used natural lighting, heating and cooling systems. Walls were built with materials that act as insulator. In hot climatic regions, the ceilings were high while in cold climates they were low. The architectural design, construction methods and materials were chosen to create a micro-climate compatible with human comfort.

We can do the same today as well instead of counting on technology to do it for us. In this way we can save great amounts of energy because the building is bringing us comfort in a passive way.

We can pay attention to the directions of the openings, design and materials of our homes so that not only the usage of artificial lighting and cooling systems such as air conditioning can be minimized, but it will also provide a healthier place for living. This in the long run encourages the developers, companies and architects to turn to designing with nature and in favor of it, because of the increase in demand.
