Silently Made a Promise to Him…
Master Choa Kok Sui founder of Modern Pranic Healing and Arhatic Yoga was born on 15th August 1952. A Filipino of Chinese descent, His father was Christian, and His mother a Buddhist. He graduated from university with a Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering. Later He naturally shifted His focus more toward His spiritual mission. From the early age of 13 He diligently practiced character building to eradicate His weaknesses and develop the virtues. Though His parents were wealthy He lived an austere life, like that of a yogi. He studied many books on healing and experimented on the different healing arts. He was a walking encyclopedia on esoteric knowledge and healing.
As a Guru, Master Choa Kok Sui was poetry in motion. Watching Him on stage His disciples would be awe struck by His inner magnetism and power. Every word of His was like an arrow penetrating deep into the psyche of each soul that yearned to grow to be just like Him. Deep spiritual teachings would be tossed into the mind of His disciples in the space of minutes. His astute mind simplified the teachings and relayed them with accuracy and precision, like a missile looking for its target. One came out of a session with the Guru feeling completely awe struck by His presence and in deep gratitude for His grace.
The Guru had such a big aura that all His disciples would be sitting within it when He was physically present. As a result, He could pick up everything we were thinking and feeling. As new young disciples we would try to impress the Guru and raise our hands to ask Him questions. He would nod and look towards us, but every time we tried to ask the question He would ask us to sit down before we had finished. He would however still answer the question. Soon we realised that He already knew what we wanted to ask as we were sitting in His aura and that if we threw out the question mentally, at some point He would pick it up and answer it. One time after a meditation at a retreat I was really eager to share my beautiful experience but did not have the guts to raise my hand when He asked if anyone wanted to share. All of a sudden He pointed to me and said….”you… want to say something!”
In the early years, when the group of Pranic Healers was small, during retreats Master would lie down in the hall at lunch break and have His nap, while we would happily chat and dance around Him. He was content to be with us casually.
The Guru never forced us to practice, He allowed us to make our own decisions.
Personally, for me, I had gained a spiritual father. One time, at the end of a retreat with Master Choa Kok Sui, there was a photography session that we posed for. I happily jumped on stage and stood behind Him. Gently, yet with authority He ordered me to come in front, saying that no one must stand behind the Guru. Later, I realised that the Guru is constantly watching His disciples like a shepherd watches his flock, to see which one strays away and gently nudges them back on the path. The Guru never forced us to practice, He allowed us to make our own decisions. He radiated compassion yet He had the power to hold our attention and attract our mind to His, like a magnet attracts iron filings. We could never have enough of His teachings. When He was with us in a retreat, He would talk late into the night and never for one moment would anyone feel like they had had enough. The next morning we would be up bright and early, wanting more!
I must say however that all the new students of Master’s are luckier than we were. For us to get new teachings we had to wait for the retreat that happened once a year, now everything has been put down in books for all to read and follow. But perhaps the older students value the teachings because they did not get them so easily and I hope all those who enter the school now will have gratitude for easy access to powerful spiritual teachings and practice diligently.
Being in the physical presence of a powerful Guru is like being in the Golden Age for the disciple. The tremendous energy downpour allows many karmic seeds to be washed away allowing the spiritual aspirant to be quickly cleansed and healed. But wait; there is a catch! The Guru does not do this for free! There is a reason for His grace, as He sees potential in those He brings into His fold, to be a part of the Divine plan. The Guru is like a gardener removing weeds so that the good seeds can flower. His wish is to nurture souls to be clones of His, maturing into people with compassionate hearts, intelligent minds and powerful wills – people of good will and the will to good. To master the art of service and unconditional love is not an easy task, but when one remembers the path followed and laid out by Master Choa Kok Sui for all, one cannot help but marvel at His methodology and guidance. In the words of Master Choa Kok Sui, “The Spiritual Path is more complicated than the Amazon. The Guru has already been through the “forest.” Follow the guidance of the Teacher to avoid getting hurt.”
”Blessed are those who have not seen, but believe!”
A year before Master Choa Kok Sui left the physical body, at classes and retreats, He made His disciples do the Meditation on Twin Hearts with open eyes, looking at Him. He would say…”the Guru is meditating for you, you are in My aura.” During the meditation I would experience visions of His face fading away, sometimes turning golden, and sometimes changing into the face of another Master who I could not recognise. Only later when He left the body, did I realise that the all-compassionate Guru was teaching His disciples to see beyond His physical presence. It was difficult to hold onto the teachings as we were all so connected to His physical body, but slowly and surely we have been able to understand His omnipresence.
All new disciples should understand that they have not lost out on the physical presence of the Guru, for those who did not meet Him have an added advantage of holding on to the teachings and not the physical manifestation. As Lord Jesus told His disciples before being crucified…”Blessed are those who have not seen, but believe!”
On 19th March 2007, Master Choa Kok Sui left His physical body. Late at night when I received a call from a fellow disciple I was quiet, I reflected on all I had received from my Guru and silently made a promise to Him…”Master I am ready to do your work”.

We are new initiates in Pranic healing and just missed Guruji can only see through such accounts of their disciples. There are two things, Guruji’s teaching to you about something and being with him actually working his teaching is like watching the artist paint a master piece.
Thanks for the insights into Gurujis work

The Guru is always there spreading His love and light. No words of gratitude are enough to express what He has given the world and He has left the teachings to be spread by all of us to alleviate suffering throughout the world.

Thank you for sharing your experience with us. The divine word “spiritual father” is what I treasure most in my life. After joining Arhatic, I always feel that I am reincarnated again in a same physical body. He is truly a “spiritual father”, I owe him everything in my life. No words of gratitude are enough to express what He has given the world and to me.

Thank You Tehruna Meresh for word crafting this Accurate Perception of our Dear Friend .Interesting to note was how he asked us to have a open body position when he talked WITH us , often he would look at someone & utilize the information within that person to construct his presentation . He is Still Doing this Especially when we Speak & Write about him many hear him commenting directly to them when we Engage in sharing the teachings .
