“Your goal is not to battle with the mind, but to witness the mind.”
Swami Muktananda
Those familiar with astrology know that Gemini is represented by the Twins. Esoterically, they represent the soul and the personality – or in Pranic Healing terms – the higher soul and the incarnated soul. Through its journey, the higher soul gradually exerts its influence over the incarnated soul.
From an anxious, impulsive and indecisive personality, Gemini blooms into adaptability, maturity and strength. Eventually, the identity shifts from that of the personality to that of the soul. Once this shift has occurred, the person develops an awareness of their life purpose. One of the key traits of the development of Gemini is the decision-making process. A soul on the spiritual path will be faced with difficult choices and they have to choose between doing what is right vs what is easy. The Full Moon of Gemini represents and amplifies this shift in awareness. Gemini rules the path of personality development – up to and including the shift to the knowledge that I AM the soul.
Gemini is the third of the three most powerful full moons of the year. It’s known as World Invocation Day, or sometimes called the Festival of Goodwill.
According to Theosophy, “This is the Festival of the spirit of humanity aspiring towards God, seeking conformity with the will of God and dedicated to the expression of right human relations. It is a day whereon the spiritual and divine nature of mankind is recognized. On this Festival for two thousand years the Christ has represented humanity and has stood before the Hierarchy and in the sight of Shamballa as the God-man, the leader of his people and “the eldest in a great family of brothers.”
Each year at this time he has preached the last sermon of the Buddha before the assembled Hierarchy. This is, therefore, a Festival of deep invocation and appeal, of a basic aspiration towards fellowship, of human and spiritual unity; it represents the effect in human consciousness of the work of the Buddha and of the Christ. This Festival is also observed as “World Invocation Day.”
The three major spiritual events of the year occur on the Festival of Easter (at the Aries full moon), the Festival of Wesak (at the Taurus full moon), and the Festival of Goodwill (at the Gemini full moon).
Through a dedicated effort of intellect, compassion and goodwill, the world is evolving. People with the willingness to do good are coming forward, as the Earth goes through its own purification process. Gemini represents the doorway through which the inner transformation takes place and evolution takes place.
The Keyword for Gemini is: “I recognize my other self and in the waning of that self, I grow and glow.”
